How to Reach Darjeeling

By Flight
Darjeeling is close to Bagdogra airport with an approximate distance of 79 km. It is the only airport in the entire North Bengal Region and is nicely connected with all the major airports of the state. It will be easy for you to rent a car from Bagdogra Airport and then travel to the magnificent Darjeeling.
By Train
There are several trains available from most of the major cities of West Bengal to New Jalpaiguri railway station (NJP) including Kolkata. As you reach NJP, you can avail a car to reach Darjeeling through the amazing curvy roads by covering around 80 long kilometres within 3 hours.
By Road
Darjeeling is quite close to Siliguri, NJP or Bagdogra. As they are the nearest major transportation hub from Darjeeling. From Siliguri, NJP or Bagdogra Airport to Darjeeling the distance by road is around 80 kilometres and takes 3 hours to reach. Shared cars and even buses are available to.

Weather and Temperature in Darjeeling

The weather of Darjeeling stays usually cool and the summer months are quite short. Summer starts in May and ends in June.


March to April is the month of spring in Darjeeling. This time, the plenty of flowers blossom, the sky stays mostly clear and you can get a mesmerizing view of Mount Kanchenjunga. During spring the temperature of Darjeeling stays between 5 degrees to 16 degrees Celsius.

May, June and July is the month of summer in Darjeeling. The weather of summer stays quite pleasant and charming. This time the temperature ranges between 10 degrees to 18 degrees Celsius.

June, August and September are the Months of Monsoon in Darjeeling. This time the weather stays foggy and the sky stays foggy. You can barely see a clear sky during these months in Darjeeling.

The season of autumn starts from October and ends in November in Darjeeling. The weather again becomes charming and the fogginess fades away. The temperature stays between 7°C to 18°C.
